One trait that makes a star in the celestial sphere unique is its brightness. Each star's brightness as seen from the earth is dependent on luminosity and distance.

In darkness the night skies give birth and reflect their brilliance and powerful serenity. Therefore, in the middle of night when you search for a light there they are the brightest stars.

In America’s residential treatment facilities, Foster Family Agencies and Group Homes there are thousands of children who have been abused, neglected and abandoned. Each youth has a tiny light that dims and flickers, coupled with a severely damaged sense of self and self worth.  And, in many cases there is an inability to trust and bond with others. Their self-esteem and self-worth is shattered and destroyed.

Since children are America’s greatest resources and future, nothing on this earth could be more precious and of greater value then to strive with endless effort to build self-esteem, self confidence and self worth in abused, abandoned and neglected children in our communities to set goals, achieve and dream big.

Welcome to the website of The Brightest Star, Inc.  It is our dream and sole purpose to draw out and make bright that tiny light in children and youth who have been neglected, abused and orphaned living in foster care.  

And to provide supportive emotional, educational, transitional, financial, counseling and mentoring services to foster youth who "age out" and/or emancipate from the foster care system.
